"ensample unto those that after should live ungodly" (2 Pet 2:6; Jud 1:4-7). Their wickedness became
proverbial (Deut 32:32; Isaiah

Mediterranean to the Red Sea. It contained the treasure-cities of Rameses and
Pittim.

district in southern Palestine conquered by Joshua. (Jos 10:41), It lay between
Gaza and Gibeon.
3. A
town in the mountains of Judah, probably in a part of the country of Goshen. (Jos 15:51).
Gourd ~ ቅል: Jonah's gourd,
“And the LORD God prepared
a gourd, and made it to come up over Jonah, that it might be a shadow
over his head, to deliver him from his grief. So Jonah was exceeding glad of
the gourd” (Jon 4:6-10)
Gozan ~ ጎዛን: The name “Gozan” means fleece; pasture;
who nourisheth the body (ግጦሽ), HBN, a region in Central Asia to
which the Israelites were carried away captive (2 Kin 17:6; 1 Chr 5:26; 2 Kin 19:12; Isa 37:12). It was situated in
Mesopotamia, on the river Habor (2 Kin 17:6; 18:11).
Guard ~ ዘበኞቹ: The word ‘Guard’ is derived from ‘Garede’ (ጋረደ) ፥ the
meaning is ‘shield,
protect...’

Guni ~ ጉኒ: The name “Guni” means a garden; a

Gur ~ ጉር: “Gur” means abode (ጓሮ), SBD, a place near Ibleam where Jehu's servants overtook and
mortally wounded king Ahaziah (2 Kin 9:27); an ascent from the plain of
Jezreel.
Gur-baal ~ ጉርበኣል: Sojourn of Baal (ባለ ጓሮ), EBD, a place in Arabia (2 Chr 26:7)
where there was probably a temple of Baal.
